In Australia, a community food pantry gets a makeover – with some colorful Kellogg art

“Take what you need, give what you can.”

That’s the simple, yet powerful mantra of Pantry for the People. Founder Rachael Smith opened the food bank in Botany, New South Wales, Australia in 2020, because she knew many local residents were struggling with hunger during the pandemic.

Today, the pantry continues to help people who are food insecure (1.3 million children in Australia live in severely food insecure households). And, to honor World Food Day, a team of Kellogg employees in Australia supported this local legend by providing the beloved pantry with a much-needed makeover and an ongoing commitment of food donations. Employees stocked the pantry’s shelves with Kellogg foods, donated additional non-perishable foods and created colorful artwork with their children for Pantry 4 the People’s recent redecoration.

The effort is part of Kellogg’s™ Better Days Promise to advance sustainable and equitable access to food, including feeding 375 million people facing food insecurity and crisis by the end of 2030.
