Cheez-It Crackers and ESPN's Chris Berman Join Forces to Find Tomorrow's Junior Sportscasters
Battle Creek, Mich. - Autumn is just around the corner - shorter days, cooler nights and…football! To help kick-off football season, Cheez-It Crackers introduces its first-ever Cheez-It Crackers Junior Sportscaster Search, beginning August 21th through September 30th.

To participate, aspiring broadcasters, ages 14-18, must submit videotapes showcasing their "on-air" sports talent. No one is a better example of how to deliver a high-energy description of major league games than Berman who describes the life of a broadcaster this way, "Being a sportscaster has been an incredible career for me. If I can move fans to feel the thrill of the game, I've done my job." Berman is a six-time "Sportscaster of the Year" anchor known for his humorous on-air style.

Cheez-It Cracker fans can enter by logging on to www.cheez-it.com for rules and tips on pursuing a career in broadcasting. Young sportscasters will be eligible to win the Cheez-It Cracker Junior Sportscaster Search's grand prize: a $5,000 college scholarship to be utilized towards a broadcast career at a school of the winner's choice.

"The Cheez-It Cracker Junior Sportscaster Search is a great way for teens who are considering a career in sports broadcasting to get some first-hand experience as well as helpful advice from one of the best professionals in the field," said Jenny Enochson, director marketing communications. "Not only is Chris Berman a world class and knowledgeable announcer, but his light approach makes him an obvious choice to participate in our unique Cheez-It Cracker Junior Sportscaster Search."

"It's just awesome that the Cheez-It Cracker Junior Sportscaster Search will help encourage youth to go all the way in the field of broadcasting," Berman said.

For those who would rather watch the game than call it, Cheez-It Crackers will close out the season with its "Head to Hawaii" instant-win sweepstakes, ending February 25th, 2004. One Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for four to Hawaii and four tickets to the Pro Bowl on February 13, 2005 in Honolulu. Four First Prize winners will get their own Game Day Party at the ESPN Zone in Las Vegas.
