KELLOGG'S COMPANY-WIDE CAMPAIGN RAISES $2.5 MILLION FOR LOCAL UNITED WAYS

Battle Creek, MI, December 19, 2002 - Employees at Kellogg Company (NYSE: K) facilities across the country have raised a combined $2.5 million for the United Way - a record for the company campaign. This total, including a company dollar-for-dollar match of employee contributions, is more than a $500,000 increase on Kellogg's 2001 campaign. The campaign also includes donations from Kellogg retirees, whose gifts are also matched dollar for dollar by Kellogg's Corporate Citizenship Fund.

"We are especially proud that even with a soft economy, Kellogg people remain committed to the communities where we live and work," said Carlos Gutierrez, Kellogg chairman and chief executive officer. "We know that the United Way and other charitable organizations are currently facing challenges, so it's more important than ever that we continue our support. We truly believe that the United Way touches lives, and that our donations make a difference."

Kellogg Company participates in United Way campaigns at 22 locations around the country, including the company's Keebler and Worthington Foods facilities. Some of the company's larger campaigns were in Elmhurst, Ill., Lancaster, Pa., Memphis, Tenn., and Omaha, Neb., with the largest campaign in Battle Creek, Mich., home of the company headquarters. The money raised at each location benefits the local United Way organization.

In addition to making personal contributions, hundreds of Kellogg employees also donated their time to United Way "Day of Caring" activities. In Battle Creek, company participation in Day of Caring doubled as more than 400 employees distributed fresh fruit and vegetables at a local food bank, packaged supplies for schoolchildren and built homes for families in need around the community.

Kellogg Company is the world's leading producer of cereal and a leading producer of convenience foods, including cookies, crackers, toaster pastries, cereal bars, frozen waffles, wholesome snacks and meat alternatives. The company's brands include Kellogg's, Keebler, Pop-Tarts, Eggo, Cheez-It, Nutri- Grain, Rice Krispies, and Kashi.
