Kellogg to Expand Special K Product Line into Diet and Nutrition Aisles

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kellogg Company (NYSE: K) is extending its popular Special K® product line into the diet and nutrition sections of grocery and drug stores with the launch of three innovative, protein-fortified products designed to meet consumers' evolving shape management needs: Special K20™ Protein Waters, Special K™ Protein Snack Bars and Special K™ Protein Meal Bars. They will be available in November and are the first products to come from the company's new Health & Wellness Division.

The new products complement the current Special K offerings -- Special K cereals, cereal bars and snack bites -- and are fitting extensions of Kellogg Company's largest global brand. Great-tasting, convenient, nutritious and fortified with protein, these innovations offer easy solutions to help consumers address their weight management goals.

  Specifics about the new products include:

* Special K20 Protein Waters deliver five grams of protein per 16 oz. bottle with 50 calories. Special K20 is available in three flavors: Strawberry Kiwi, Lemon Twist and Tropical Blend. Suggested retail price for four 16-ounce bottles is $5.99.

* Special K Protein Meal Bars come in Chocolate Peanut Butter, Double Chocolate and Strawberry. Each bar has 10 grams of protein, 190 calories and is a good source of 13 vitamins and minerals and an excellent source of calcium. Suggested retail price for a box of six bars is $5.98, or $1.29 for an individual bar.

* Special K Protein Snack Bars contain delicious chocolate with 110- calories per bar, four grams of protein and are a good source of nine vitamins and minerals. They are available in Chocolate Peanut and Chocolate Delight. Suggested retail price for a box of six bars is $3.99, or $.89 for an individual bar.

Kellogg Company will launch a full marketing campaign, including TV and print, to support the new products.
